About Yebiga founder
Hi, my name is Bill, I am a professional musician (you might know me from a band called Faith No More) who has toured and traveled the Balkans for decades. I fell in love with rakija and everything related to it, and realized that if I wanted to enjoy a “proper version” here at home in the US, I would have to do it myself. So I partnered with one of Serbia’s most respected distillation families to create a truly handcrafted, natural and premium version that would live up to the standards of a homemade rakija. This is why I created Yebiga.
Something Old, Something New
Rakija is unique fruit brandy made and found all over Eastern Europe, but particularly in “The Balkans”. True to it’s rural roots, rakija has been a way to make a tough life better. Dating back centuries and refined through generations, It is completely unique and, when crafted properly, rivals any world class spirit.
Nature at it’s Best
Serbia in particular is highly regarded for producing some of the best rakija, and its famous domestic plums produce the most infamous of rakijas: Slivovica (slivovitz). Our version is crafted on a rural farm the old-fashioned way, through a zero compromise process, using only HYPER-LOCAL PLUMS, and water straight from the mountain. Being Kosher, we only use wild yeast for the fermentation and it is spontaneous.

BELA is clear, unoaked sljivovica made from a 50/50 blend of two local plums (čačanska rodna, čačanska lepotica). Reminiscent of a good slivovitz from more northern neighbors like Hungary or Czech Republic. Floral, dry and an excellent sipper, while opening countless possibilities for cocktails. A wonderful apertif or digestif.

“I want it aged”
PRVA comes from a single variety of local plum (čačanska rodna), barrel-aged for a minimum of 18 months in Serbian oak (harvested from the same mountain as the fruit). The result is a golden hue and delicate notes of plum, vanilla, honey and blackcurrant. This limited edition rakija pairs excellent with charcuterie, cheeses, cigars or a good book
